Distribution Rights price (TN): INR 30 crores
*10% Refund to distributors : INR 3 crores
Investment amount - 10% refund : 30-3= INR 27 crores
Nett collections = INR 44 crores
Closing Shares = INR 30 crores
JILLA: Tamilnadu
Distribution Rights price (TN): INR 33+ crores
*10% Refund to distributors : INR 3 crores
Investment amount - 10% refund : 33-3= INR 30 crores
Nett collections = INR 39.5 crores
Closing Shares = INR 26-27 crores
*Since 30% Entertainment tax was imposed for both the pongal releases despite getting clean 'U' , It is now reported that the producers of both the movies gave a refund of about 10% of the rights price amount back to the Distributors, since their revenue got affected by the heavy Tax imposition.
